there are things you do because they feel right & they may make no sense & they may make no money & it may be the real reason we are here: to love each other & to eat each other's cooking and say it was good. -- brian andreas |

this site has some fun recipes and advice for when you are struggling with what to make for dinner. its filled with humor, recipes, and foul language—a winner.
after a recent BBQ, where a charred selection of hamburgers/turkey burgers/garden burgers* were served, i started asking the question: can they all really be “burgers”? what makes a burger, a burger?
according to wikipedia, a hamburger (or burger for short) is a sandwich consisting of a cooked patty of ground meat, (usually beef, but occasionally pork, turkey, or a combination of meats) placed between two buns. (ew pork? unless its a BBQ pulled pork sandwich—but that’s not a burger. do you see the point? maybe the time has come to make up some alternatives. I wonder what the Hamburglar would think. Or perhaps the King.
*hot dogs were also amongst the bun fillers, but it’s a topic for another day. mm, this is making me hungry. who wants pie?
